Eddie's Story
Eddie is a 50-pound mixed breed. This silly boy is estimated to be between 2 and 3 years old. Old enough to be past the puppy shenanigans but young enough to enjoy playing and walks!

Eddie is very good natured and loves everyone he meets. He can initially be very excited because he's so happy and friendly, but he calms down quickly. Eddie loves to flop on his back and invite you to scratch his belly.

Eddie is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the 3 dogs in his foster home. He's an expert nap taker, sleeping the day away while his foster dad works from home.

Eddie is just starting to enjoy playing with toys. He likely never had any prior experience with them before coming to Hope Safehouse. Eddie was an outside dog in Kentucky who was relinquished to the shelter. His family wasn't taking very good care of him, and his owners got tired of the neighbors complaining. Despite his rough start, Eddie has been a very well-mannered house guest in his foster home. He sits politely for treats and takes them very gently. Eddie has not had a single accident in his foster home and sleeps quietly in his crate for 8 hours at night. Eddie enjoys going for walks and is doing a great job with his leash manners. His foster family has been using a gentle leader collar, and this has greatly reduced him pulling on the leash.

Eddie gets a little too excited when he sees a cat, so a cat free home is necessary. Eddie loves to sniff for bunnies when outside, and gets very excited if he sees one running and will take chase. Because of this, Eddie's ideal home would have a fenced in yard to keep him safe. The vet believes him to be a hound mix, so his tendency to follow his nose means he cannot be trusted off leash in an unfenced area.

Eddie is such a sweet boy, and is so appreciative of everything. He loves to curl up in a soft bed and relax. He loves to be pet, and have his belly and butt scratched.

Eddie would love to find a family that will love him forever!

Adopters must live within 75 miles of Racine, WI.
