Ebenezer's Story

The shy prince!

Hi friends! My name is ebenezer and I am a 4 year old, male neutered corgi mix. I weigh about 20 lbs. I was rescued from Mexico through Los Adoptables in Ensenada and brought to SD to give me a new lease at life. I wish I could tell about my past and my trauma, but I will need time. So far I am bathroom and crate trained and still working on getting comfortable around the leash. I have been wearing a harness and we are working on leash desensitization.

I have been given all the time at my foster home to get comfortable and I am so grateful! This decompression time has helped my feral and nervous side to open up a bit. I will continue to decompress and build confidence while I learn that the world has amazing people too. Routine really helps me. I prefer spending most of my time in the yard outside right now. I do like to play with my foster dog brother time to time! My foster family says that I am literally a little old man in a retirement home that just wants his three square meals a day and to be left alone haha!

I am a low maintenance guy and a sweetie, looking for someone to give me love, plants to lay under and a back yard to call my own. My personality is hilarious and you will see for yourself once I get comfy around you! I would thrive with another dog mentor. I think I will be indifferent about children and very much fine being alone. If you find yourself a very patient person with a huge heart, I may be the one for you! come and meet me, but with space.

My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
