Easton's Story

Easton - aka “Mr. Practically Perfect” is a white bodied beagle/terrier/hound package of perfection. He has a very distinguished brown half face patch matched at the other end with one body patch.

Somewhere between 1-2 years old at about 40-45 lbs, he is an inquisitive, attentive young guy with a penchant for loving everyone and just asking to be trained and loved. He has already perfected his sit and stare and will do most anything for a treat and a loving touch.

During the 10-weeks of training, New Leash on Life dogs are crate-trained and work on house and leash-training. Each dog adopted from New Leash on Life will also be up-to-date on all necessary vaccines (including rabies), microchipped and also be altered. Our dogs are also on monthly preventative medications as well.

Thanks to our friends at FOSS (Friends of Stokes Shelter) for this wonderful boy!

Piedmont Animal Welfare Alliance's Adoption Policy
Prospective adopters must first fill out an extensive application, after which we check their vet records, their references, and then do a home visit. After all that, they may come to the prison (with all pets) to meet the inmate-trainer, one of our instructors, a prison staff member, and a Paw Alliance representative. After a 45 minute meet and greet, if they still want the dog, and we approve of them, they are committed to adopting the dog. But they cannot adopt until the end of our 10 week training.
