Earle's Story
Earle has been in Foster Care for 2 months now and we have learned what his pro's and con's are at this point. Dogs take awhile to show you who they are and Earle is doing that now.

Earle disapproves of being crated or left in a room. He will bark and scratch at the crate or door until you return for him. He does better in the crate when on the main floor and in the presence of other dogs. He will act as though he has been trapped in the crate for years when finally released, zooming about the room.

Earle is an escape artist and will dart for an open door whether inside the home or leading outside. He is very quick and will go right between your legs, squeeze passed you, whatever it takes. He is good about stopping when called and returning back to you.

He loves the yard where he can run free and run he does, laps around the yard, over the garden wall, back into the yard like a bullet train. He is very agile and athletic. He might be a candidate for a agility dog with his ability to jump, climb and turn on a dime.

He is dog social but still needs to work on taking cue's from other dogs. He has a Napoleon complex and thinks growling at a 70lb dog is going to change that dogs mind to play with him.

He is constantly getting tangled in our feet and this would not be could in a home if you have mobility issues of any kind. You turn to walk and he is right there at your feet staring up at you.

He will need basic obedience classes to learn commands. He does come when called as he is attention and treat driven. He is a healthy eater, does well taking care of business when outside. He has had a couple accidents when he first arrived but now goes to the door to go outside. If he is going to sleep in bed at night, he does put on a belly bend just in case.

He will sleep in bed with his foster Mom and another dog, he likes to be on your neck while you sleep or under the covers right next to you. He has now in his second month progressed to sleeping in his crate in the bedroom in a donut bed inside the crate. He is very affectionate wanting to give kisses and cuddle even when you aren't expecting it. His a kissing bandit.

Earle is a good dog, he needs work to be a great companion dog. This takes effort, patience and time. We are looking for a person who has the time and wants to put in the effort to continue to help Earle overcome his anxiety when alone, learn basic commands, and develop a strong bond. Having a social dog who is not easily annoyed is a bonus.

Do you have room in your heart and home for Earle? He needs a home with a family that can burn his energy up with playtime and attention. He is not a dog for elderly or apartment living.

Please apply at www.k9ei.dog

We provide the medical care, food, treats, toys, blanket, bed, lead, collar, and support as you foster this little one in his search for forever.
