Earle's Story

Earle has been in Foster Care for a month now and we have learned what his pro's and con's are at this point. Dogs take awhile to show you who they are and Earle is doing that now.

Earle disapproves of being crated or left in a room. He will bark and scratch at the crate or door until you return for him. He does better in the crate when on the main floor and in the presence of other dogs. He will act as though he has been trapped in the crate for years when finally released.

Earle is an escape artist and will dart for an open door whether inside the home or leading outside. He is very quick and will go right between your legs, squeeze passed you, whatever it takes.

He loves the yard where he can run free and run he does, laps around the yard, over the garden wall, back into the yard like a bullet train. He is very agile and athletic.

He is dog social but still needs to work on taking cue's from other dogs. He has a Napoleon complex and thinks growling at a 70lb dog is going to change that dogs mind.

He is constantly getting tangled in our feet and this would not be could in a home if you have mobility issues of any kind. You turn to walk and he is right there at your feet.

He will need basic obedience classes as he knows no commands on cue. He does come when called as he is attention and treat driven. He is a healthy eater, does well as taking care of business when outside. He has had a couple accidents and wears a belly band when eyes aren't on him in the room. Which is barely never as he has to be by humans.

He sleeps in bed with his foster Mom and another dog, he likes to be on your neck while you sleep or under the covers right next to you. He is very affectionate wanting to give kisses and cuddle even when you aren't expecting it. His a kissing bandit.

Earle is a good dog, he needs work to be a great companion dog. This takes effort, patience and time. We are looking for a person who has the time and wants to put in the effort to help Earle overcome his anxiety when alone, learn basic commands, and develop a strong bond where he is no longer looking to escape. Having a social dog who is not easily annoyed is a bonus.

Do you have room in your heart and home for Earle?

Please apply at www.k9ei.dog

We provide the medical care, food, treats, toys, blanket, bed, lead, collar, and support as you foster this little one in his search for forever.

Often a dog chooses their family and makes it pretty obvious quickly if they are comfortable or not. All dogs under 1 year of age are required to attend Force Free/Fear Free training with their new adoptive family at their expense as part of the contract. Dogs older than 1 year old who are in need of training based on their past lives will be required to attend training classes. Applicant must have knowledge of the breed of dog they wish to be considered for adding to their family.
