Dwight's Story

Meet Dwight, this handsome 2-year-old Pitbull mix!

Dwight previously spent 24 days in a shelter and is now being cared for at the Jefferson College Vet Tech Department while he waits for his perfect home. He absolutely loves people and quickly wins hearts with his friendly personality and enthusiasm. If you’ve got treats, you’ve got his full attention—he’s very food-motivated and eager to connect, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Assistant to the Regional Manager of snacks, perhaps?

He would do best as the only pet in the home. While he enjoys watching the world go by, he can be reactive around other dogs and prefers to have his space. With the right environment, he’ll thrive as your one-and-only companion.

He does have a slight limp due to one of his front legs being shorter than the others, but it doesn’t slow him down or stop him from enjoying life. He may just need a home that understands his unique stride!

If you’re looking for a loyal, people-loving companion who will be your biggest fan, Dwight might be your perfect match!

**If interested in meeting any of our animals that we have available for adoption, please email vettech@jeffco.edu or call 636-481-3424. Jefferson College Veterinary Technology Program's Adoption Policy
If interested in meeting any of our animals that we have available for adoption, please email vettech@jeffco.edu or call 636-481-3424. We are a selective adoption program and require an application to be submitted prior to meeting any of our animals. In addition, since we are a teaching program and not a rescue or shelter, our animals are not immediately available to leave the Program once their adoption is approved. We typically require them to stay with us for 7-8 weeks after we receive them to ensure they receive all necessary medical care and are spayed or neutered. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
