Dutchess's Story

Say hello to Dutchess, a brave and feisty little firecracker with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. At just three months old, she has already traveled from Puerto Rico to Colorado with her brothers, Oreo and Octavian, and taken every new experience in stride. Dutchess is bold, curious, and endlessly playful, but she also has a soft side and will happily melt into your arms for cuddle time. She is amazing with kids and cats.

Dutchess gets along beautifully with other dogs and greets new people with cheerful enthusiasm. Like any young puppy, she has sharp little teeth, so families with kids should be mindful, but her friendly nature suggests she’ll thrive with respectful children. She is progressing well with potty training and crate training, and her leash skills will continue to improve with patient guidance. Dutchess is very food motivated, which makes learning new things easy and fun.

Currently only ~ 10 pounds, she’s expected to grow to around 30-40 pound adult — a sturdy, compact size perfect for all kinds of adventures. Dutchess’s confidence makes her a natural explorer, and her cuddly side ensures she balances playtime with plenty of affection.

Like many satos (mixed-breed dogs from Puerto Rico), Dutchess is a delightful mix of who-knows-what, but we do know she is loving, resilient, and ready to bond deeply with her person or family. She is up to date on her vaccinations, awaiting spay and microchipping.

If you’re searching for a spirited, affectionate puppy with loads of personality, Dutchess is ready to become your new shadow and adventure partner.

Adoption Details:
If you’re interested in adopting Duthcess, please fill out the application here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BSCO/Dog

We ask for a $400 donation as the adoption fee to help cover medical services and transport.
