Dutch 's Story

Dutch is a 4-year-old bundle of energy. He is an extremely smart dog and will keep you on your toes. He was adopted from Serendipity as a puppy and is being surrendered by his family as they feel that they cannot provide the active lifestyle he needs. Dutch needs a large, fenced yard where he has room to run and play. His current home cannot have a physical fence, so he is limited in space to stretch his legs. He currently lives with older kids and several dogs.

Dutch loves to play fetch with his ball and is limited in his current home since he doesn’t have the space to run to fetch his ball. He can catch a ball in the air and quickly bring it back for another round. He loves to go on really long walks, so if you need a walking companion, this is your boy.
Dutch loves to watch his favorite commercials on TV, the Charmin bears, the gecko, and the MGM lion.

As a young pup, Dutch attended 3 weeks of training learning his basic commands and use of an E collar. As an adult, he has continued his training and has lifetime training support with a trainer at a facility in the St. Louis area. His trainer reports that Dutch is an ideal candidate for dock diving, scent work, agility, and other dog sports.

Dutch loves his ball and a hard bone to chew on. As an aggressive chewer, his family found that the king chew ball found on Amazon works best for him. Even though dogs are somewhat color blind, he prefers the green or orange balls and will ignore those of other colors. Did we say he was smart? His family learned that dog puzzles are not a challenge for Dutch. He can figure them out within minutes and immediately they become another chew toy. He also loves to play hide and seek in the house with the kids and will put his nose in the air and can sniff them out within minutes.

Dutch needs an active adopter and a large, fenced yard where he can run and chase a ball off leash. He needs the freedom to jump in the air to catch his ball. Dutch may be a candidate for a high flying frisbee! He is neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. If you are ready for an active or a dog ideal for dog sports, Dutch is waiting for you!

-------------------
Our Adoption Fees:
-------------------

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450

* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400

* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program!
