He was found as a stray on the streets so he’s been learning all about living in a house. His foster parents are working on his house training and have been teaching him how to walk on a leash, use a doggie door, and play with toys. <br/><br/>Friendly and extremely social with humans and fellow canines, Dutch loves to play with the other foster dogs. But in the evenings, he loves to snuggle on the couch with his foster parents.<br/><br/>Dutch is pretty young and still has the last little bit of puppy energy so he may do best with an adopter who’s fairly active. He’d also do well in a home with another dog. But he could also do well as an only dog. <br/><br/>Adoption Information<br/><br/>Please note: Because of their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.<br/><br/>If you would like to meet Dutch please plan to attend our next Meet and Greet event at Pet Supplies Plus in Round Rock from noon to 2pm on the first Saturday of each month - Except in January it will be held on January 10th due to the holidays. <br/><br/>We do not have a physical facility — all of our dogs live in loving foster homes.<br/>Lil’ Paws is a small, all-volunteer organization. To best use our limited time and resources, we are only able to correspond with individuals who have submitted an adoption application.<br/><br/>If you live in the immediate Austin area and are interested in adopting from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and Other Petite Paws, please visit www.lilpaws.org<br/>Our local adoption requirement is due to the thoroughness of our process, which includes home visits and a trial adoption period to ensure the dog has adjusted well. With our small team of volunteers, it is not possible to conduct these steps outside our area. Even if you are willing to travel, we must keep our efforts local to maintain the integrity of our process.<br/><br/>Our mission is to place our dogs in safe, stable, and loving homes within the Austin area.
