Dusty's Story

Courtesy post:
Dusty is a 2.5 year old neutered male Husky looking for his forever home. Located in New England. He was taken in by a kind family when his owners lost their home. They were living in a motor home and lost heat in the middle of January, so they deemed it best to no longer keep their dogs. The family who currently has Dusty took in all 3 dogs and found homes for 2 of them but Dusty remains. Please share!

Dusty loves kids! He currently lives with other dogs but it is recommended for him to meet other dogs first because he can be selective of who he likes and doesnt like. He's been known to tease the other dogs in his foster home. He has never gone after the other dogs but teases them (one in particular). In his previous home he lived with 2 other dogs. He is also fostered with a lizard and two macaws. He does not bother the cats or birds but will eat their food!

He loves to hike! Loves jeep rides with the wind in his big old head! Hes an overall perfect dog. Hes crate trained but sleeps with us. He will howl!

Please do your homework on the breed, they aren't for everyone!
To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059

email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.

Adopt A Stray Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process begins with an adoption application, which requires 3 non family personal references and a vet reference if the applicant has had pets in the past 5 years. We check all references, asking about their home, yard, available time for a pet, financial capability of caring for a pet, etc. We contact their vet on file and verify that past or present pets have been spayed/neutered and kept up to date on recommended vaccinations as well as heartworm prevention. If all references check out, we then use various social media apps and google to make sure there are no red flags, then we move forward with the adoption if all of that checks out.
