URGENT DUSTY NEEDS A NEW HONE ASAP!Dusty (FKA Smitty) was found as a stray in Alabama in 2020, he was not using one of his legs and the shelter said he was probably hit by a car. The injury was left yo heal on its own which caused lack of blood flow to the area. Fur Babies pulled him from the shelter and had his leg fixed. Dusty was then adopted by his foster mom. Since then Dusty has had one other surgery to remove a piece of bone that grew back after the initial surgery, he also saw a neurologist for an idiopathic head tremor (turns out it's common and needs no treatmemt/wont affect his life). <br/>Shortly after adoption Dusty and his mom moved to a condo without a yard in FL and walks 3- 4 times a day are getting hard for her. He’s totally house broken, no accidents. Walks 3-4 x a day but ideally would love to run in a yard. Walks well on lead unless he sees a lizard. He is walked with a freedom harness and is working with a trainer for the lizards but he walks pass other dogs and ducks with no issues and also sometimes gets the zoomies on leash because he's used to running in a yard. They are working on that also and they are much less and easier to control but would likely be nonexistentif he had a yard to play in again. His current mom takes treats with her which she tosses and tells him to go find, that distracts him and he walks well after that.<br/>He weighs 61 pounds. He loves to destroy his stuffies to get the squeaker, loves to cuddle on the couch. He really is an easy dog. He loves people, comes visiting with friends and makes himself at home. He greets the fellow walkers who love him and fuss over him. Loves to chase a ball but he’s no retriever! He rests his head on his current mom's lap and is just so sweet and snuggles between her legs when she's sitting for good petting time. He sleeps in his bed and he only barks when someone is at the door. <br/>He knows his "place" on his bed, he sits and gives paw and lays down. Loves looking out window’s on car rides. He’s good in the car now after 4 trips from FL to NY and back. He also will bark at the tv if a dog is barking and is hysterical when he sees himself in the mirror! He is not destructive unless your a stuffy. He’s not a grubber of food as he doesnt get food from the table but will gladly help himself if it’s on a low table. Last he was with kids he was great but not recently since no kids where is is currently. He’s really a great dog, adopter just can't walk him as much as he needs and has decided that he needs a home with a fenced yard. <br/>Dusty is currently in FL but can be transported. He is vaccinated and neutered. Dusty is typically good with other dogs but had a fight with a buddy of his while he was in pain before his second surgery.
