Duquesa's Story

Duquesa didn’t arrive at the shelter alone — she came with a royal entourage in her belly. Rescued from the San Jose Plaza while pregnant, this beautiful girl gave birth to six bouncing pups (Dax, Donato, Dalton, Dawson, Dante & Domino) and handled motherhood like the noble lady she is.
Born around February 2021, Duquesa is social, affectionate, and just the right amount of sassy. She’s a good little dog with a big heart — loves to play, adores people, and sometimes even gets along with other dogs (depending on their vibe, of course — a queen has standards).
She’s been living in an outdoor shelter for way to long, so she’ll need a bit of help adjusting to home life. But with patience, love, and maybe a few treats, she’ll be ruling your couch in no time.
Duquesa is ready to retire her crown and become someone’s loyal sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who’s survived the streets, raised a royal litter, and still has plenty of love to give — Duquesa is waiting to meet you.

Duquesa can be adopted locally or she can fly (outside of any heat embargos) to her new home/family. Our most common, but not limited to, flight angel destinations are: Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver & Victoria.

To adopt or get more information on Duquesa please go to www.saltydogrescuebrigade.org to fill out an application and one of our coordinators will be in touch.
