Duncan's Story
Duncan was emaciated when he was found and brought to the shelter. Literally starving to death. Thank God we were able to save him. He is just a wonderful dog and is going to make someone very happy that he survived. He is one of those dogs that looks at you behind his kennel door with those soulful eyes that is hoping you will pick him.

We are calling Duncan a neutered male Lab/Pitbull Terrier mix. He came in weighing a measly 45 lbs. and was skin and bones. He has put on a few lbs. since arriving but needs some more. And when he does, he is going to look terrific. We believe he is somewhere between 10 – 18 months old. He is here because he was abandoned by his owner.

Please watch Duncan’s video on Petfinder to get a good look at this handsome boy off leash and enjoying his time in our exercise. You can also get an idea of his energy level thar I would describe as medium to high. Keep in mind that he is still a young dog.

You will be able to enjoy your walks with him. I took him for a spin on just a slip lead with a minimum amount of pulling, and he was easily directed. Most anyone will be able to handle him. I also believe he has been house-trained. He took care of business several times once we were outside and appeared to have been holding it for a while. Please be patient with him while he adjusts to a new home and environment.

I spent some time with him and learned that he knows all the basic commands. He will sit, stay, down, shake with either paw, and comes running when called. Treat motivated and takes them gently from your fingers. Duncan is friendly and affectionate and is content to just sit next to you and enjoy your company.
If you already have a dog(s) in your home, there will be a meet & greet at the shelter.

Duncan is one of those dogs with all his ribs still showing that you just want to take home and fatten him up. And he deserves it, folks. Duncan has proven himself to be a survivor. Now it’s time he got that forever, loving and caring home. Please give Duncan that chance in your home. You will never be sorry you did.
