Duke M 26001's Story

Duke will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption. He is on the schedule to be neutered.

Duke is a senior, low-energy, frie.ndly Cocker-mix. He has a heart murmur that is not causing any issues. Duke was put into a shelter when his family became homeless. New photos coming soon after grooming.

Sir Duke is a sweet little old man. He wants nothing more than to sleep in the sun near his people. He is perfectly happy and content to just be near his family. Duke is not a big morning eater. He will eat better at dinner than breakfast. I suspect he was fed from the table at some point as he loves to beg at human mealtimes and will steal a sandwich, given half a chance. He is a master at spitting out pills, whether flavored chewable or not. And he does NOT want anyone to pill him. Liverwurst seems to do the trick. Due to his enlarged prostate, he does drip occasionally. Not more than a few little drops. This is easily taken care of with a belly band, which he is so good about wearing. Duke seems to be deaf, so communicating is a work in progress. He has mild separation anxiety. He does not like to be left alone, will bark and howl, but does calm down after a while.

Duke would love a quiet, peaceful home, where someone is home most of the time. He would make a great office mate. He would love to sleep on your bed and live out his days in quiet sunshine. Let's give this sweet boy a loving forever home for his retirement.
