Life was good with his loving family — until unexpected health issues meant they had to make the heartbreaking decision to return him to us. Now, Duke is once again looking for a forever home where he can continue being the loyal, affectionate dog he’s always been.<br/><br/>About Duke:<br/><br/>Housebroken and crate trained – he knows the rules and loves routine.<br/><br/>MUST be the<br/>ONLY<br/>dog in the home<br/><br/>Stong on leash, — he’ll need an owner who can confidently handle his size.<br/><br/>A playful pup at heart, he enjoys daily walks, yard time, and being part of the action.<br/><br/>Currently managing a thyroid condition — all it takes is a simple medication (just two tablets a day) to keep him healthy and feeling his best.<br/><br/>On a weight-loss journey, and doing great having lost<br/><br/>approximately 30 pounds<br/>—<br/>he is just a little under 100 lbs now. Duke<br/>will need a dedicated adopter who can help keep him active and on track.<br/><br/>Due to his size and his limited time with children we are recommending an adult only home or one with older teens.
