Duke's Story

Duke needs no sales pitch. He’ll sell himself the moment you meet him. Duke is a sweet and curious 14-month-old Corgi—tail and all—who weighs about 26 pounds. This little guy loves exploring the world, especially on his daily walks. He’s playful, especially when there are balls involved, and his cheerful trot is guaranteed to make you smile.

Duke is crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ. He’s still working on his potty training, but he does well when taken out regularly and given clear cues. With a consistent routine, he’ll continue to build great habits in his new home.

He’s very interested in cats—maybe a little too interested—so a cat-free home would likely be the best fit for him. Duke was surrendered by a family who simply had too many dogs, and now he’s ready for a fresh start with someone who can give him the structure, attention, and love he deserves. He loves any human interaction. Despite being too long to be a lap dog, he really loves trying. Tugging on a rope seems to be a favorite activity for him. Watch out for little corgi tongue kisses on your face.

Duke has not been kid-tested, but should be fine with respectful kids 12+. He would like a secure fenced yard. He is dog-friendly and could go to a home with or without a canine companion. If you are interested in meeting Duke, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check and meet with everyone in the home. Duke is neutered, UTD on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.
