Duke's Story

In December of 2022 a group of dogs were taken from a sad and dangerous situation in Flint, MI. There were over 20 puppies who were only weeks old. Some of them came infected with parvo, and many, sadly, did not survive. The survivors went to foster where they have been raised by loving volunteers, until they legally were released to rescues in May of 2023. SCARR was able to rescue 3 of these little pups who are now ready for their forever homes.

This is what Duke’s foster mom has to say about Duke: “This is Duke! He such a sweet, playful, go with the flow boy. He loves to cuddle and recently has been sleeping right next to me throughout the entire night. He is mostly potty trained, has a few accidents here and there. Because he was born into such sad circumstances, and taken away from his mom and siblings too early, we think it best that he be an only dog or with a very confident larger dog who can keep him in line, but, he’s met cats before and was good, and he’s good with kids. (He’s playful and likes to jump still so they will have to keep that in mind for little kids). He is crate trained and recalls well. He knows sit and stay. We are working on down currently. All in all he’s a great dog and will make a great companion!”

Contact us for an application to adopt Duke!

Adoption fee: $300

*Breeds are best guesses based on visual appearance, background and behavior.
