Duke's Story
Duke

Duke is a big German Shepherd with an even bigger heart. His foster describes him as a "big teddy bear" who loves being part of whatever his people are doing.

Duke has shown no aggression toward people or the animals in his foster home. He has been around other dogs, a cat, and even chickens, and has handled those introductions well with supervision. He's curious about the world around him and seems especially interested in simply being close to his person.

In fact, when Duke once found his way through a weak spot in the fence, he didn't take off. He just wanted to get to his foster on the other side.

Duke is a large, strong shepherd who didn't get all the indoor manners and training he deserved earlier in life. He'll need a family willing to continue giving him structure, consistency, and patience. He's learning, though, and has already shown that he can listen, follow direction, and make progress.

Underneath that big shepherd exterior is a dog who seems to want something pretty simple: a person to belong to.

Duke doesn't need a perfect home. He needs a committed one. Someone willing to keep teaching him, include him in their life, and give this big teddy bear the security of knowing he's finally home.
