Duke's Story

Duke may sometimes wear the expression of a very serious little grandpa, but don’t be fooled — this boy is pure puppy joy. The moment he spots a human, his tail goes into overdrive, wagging so fast he looks like he might lift off like a tiny helicopter.

Duke is a true family man at heart. He loves being near his people and keeping a quiet watch on whatever they’re doing. He doesn’t need to be in the middle of the action — he’s perfectly happy resting nearby, just soaking in the togetherness. A home with kids or lots of activity would suit him beautifully.

Playtime is a favorite, especially tug-of-war. Squeaky toys are still a little surprising, but crinkly toys? Those are his absolute favorite, and he wrestles them like he’s determined to win every match. Duke is learning to settle in his crate at night and would prefer to be able to see his people while he sleeps. He loves pets and snuggles, though he’s more of a “foot of the bed” kind of guy — close enough to feel included, but comfortable doing his own thing.

Duke is all chocolate-brown softness, topped off with a unique white chest patch dotted with tiny polka dots. While he’s still too little to brave the cold for outdoor potty trips, he does a great job using his papers or puppy pad when it’s time. Duke is a gentle, loving pup who’s ready to be part of a family of his own.
