Meet Duke

Duke is a sweet, lovable 6 month old puppy who came to Brookline after he was surrendered at a shelter by his owners after suffering a fractured shoulder. Brookline Labrador Rescue contacted a specialist so he could have it repaired in January and it has completely healed!

Duke has a calm temperament who loves to go on walks several times per day but also loves to snuggle up on the couch with you, and we mean REALLY snuggle.. Currently, Duke has a routine of doing morning chores around the farm at his foster home and then settling in for a few naps before doing afternoon chores. Duke has done well with children and he has been exposed to other dogs nearby. He is very timid when it comes to other dogs initially, especially if they have a "big voice" but it just takes a little time and he feels more comfortable. Duke has not had any interaction with cats directly in his current home, but he has met a few while at the vet and not had a problem at all. Duke loves to ride in the car, he is well behaved and sits in the seat nicely.

Please note that although Duke's fracture is healed and he is expected to make a full recovery it is important that he enter hydrotherapy once adopted. Adopters should confirm this is available in their area before considering adopting Duke.

He is housebroken and he is fantastic on a leash! Due to his injury he has spent a lot of time on the leash and one outcome of that is he is great when walking.
