Duke's Story

Duke is a 5-year-old male English Bulldog currently located in Mahwah, NJ (Bergen County). This sweet and spirited boy has had a bit of a journey — before coming to his current family, Duke underwent a scrotal urostomy due to calcium oxalate kidney stones, had his stonic nares widened and also had entropion surgery.
Unfortunately, when Duke was adopted, it was not disclosed that Duke does not do well with children, and there are young children in his current home. For this reason,
Duke weighs 54 lbs. and is currently taking Amoxi-Clav for a UTI. Because of his prior surgery, his adopter will need to take care to keep his urostomy area clean. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and knows several commands including no, pee pee outside, go inside, and come. Duke also gives the cutest high fives for treats (especially people food!).
He is up to date on vaccinations, and all veterinary records will be provided to his adopter. His current diet is Raw Dynamic frozen duck, and he has no food or toy aggression. Duke is well-behaved for baths, does not go on furniture, and sleeps soundly in his own dog bed. He’s not a fan of loud noises (who is?) and typically only barks at the landscaper. Duke is not a fan of having his nails being cut and is groomed every 2.5-3 weeks.
Duke enjoys car rides, prefers short walks, and would love a fenced yard to romp around in. He’s energetic and playful, adores his toys, and can’t resist a good meaty bone (bison bones are his favorite!).
Duke will thrive in a calm, loving home that can meet his medical needs and give him the attention he deserves.
If you’re interested in giving Duke his forever home, at mabdrescue@yahoo.com
