Duke's Story

Meet Duke — Ready to Be Your Little King

Duke is a senior Chihuahua boy (exact age unknown) with a big personality and very clear ideas about where he belongs: with you… preferably in your arms. He is 8.5lbs.

Duke is his foster mom’s constant companion and will thrive in a home where he isn’t left alone very often. He loves being included in everything and is a great travel buddy. If another dog is getting attention or lap time, Duke will let you know he’d like his turn—he’s simply advocating for himself and his rightful place as your top priority.

He has some arthritis and needs a gentle home with minimal physical obstacles so he can stay comfortable. Duke recently had all of his remaining teeth removed and is now a happy, pain-free toothless wonder. He is pretty much housetrained as well!

He does well with other calm, respectful dogs, though he’d also love to be the star of the show if you want only one furbaby to love. Duke has not been cat tested. Dog-savvy older kids are likely okay, though he doesn’t currently live with children.

Duke loves cruising in his stroller and soaking up admiration on walks, where belly rubs from adoring strangers are basically guaranteed. He’s funny, affectionate, and full of charm—an easy dog to fall completely in love with.

Ready to let Duke rule your heart (and your couch) and live out his golden years as the cherished little king he is?

Apply today: www.adoptapal.org/adopt
His adoption fee is $350 and he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and comes with a free month of pet insurance.
