Duke's Story

***Duke is one of our board and train dogs. Every single dog that has been returned to us goes to our Board and Train program so they can be set up for a life of success. Every dog that goes through our training program is a wonderful, smart, well trained dog. Anybody who wants to adopt one of our board and train dogs will need to take the 8 week training course with our trainer totally FREE to the adopters. Our trainer requires this to ensure that every dog she has dedicated so much time to continues to get the support and structure they need to succeed and live a wonderful, happy life.

Duke is a 2 year old Mutt weighing about 50lbs. Duke was adopted from Brighter Days as an 8 week old puppy. He was adopted into a family who promised they were dedicated to him, but they never ended up socializing him or training him. The decided to relinquish him to Brighter Days because they did not have time to train him and he was starting to act out. We knew that with a little training, some boundaries, and consistancy, Duke could be an absolutely wonderful boy. He is still young enough to be trained and socialized and we are lucky to partner with the best trainer in the state, so Duke went to our Board and Train program so he could be set up for a life of sucess.

Duke is one of our trainers favorite. He does great with other dogs and people. Our trainer says that Duke is a sweet boy who loves to play with his dog friends, go for walks and hikes, and is a good snuggler. Duke needs a moderately active or more home. Duke truly has so much love to give and just needs a dedicated human who he can love unconditionally, and who will love him unconditionally.

If you are interested in adopting Duke, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com
