Dug's Story

Meet Dug
This now almost 3-month-old mixed breed cutie has already beaten the odds in his short little life.
Dug was found as a stray with devastating injuries to his front paws. His right paw had a scuffed toe and broken nail, but his left front paw was crushed - with open wounds, exposed bone fragments, and infection already setting in. It was bad. Really bad.
But Dug? He's tougher than he looks.
Thanks to an incredible foster stepping up and getting him immediate veterinary care, Dug was able to keep his paw!
Today, his paw is almost completely healed. It will always be a little misshapen and carry some scars - but let us tell you something... it does not slow him down one bit. He runs, plays, wrestles, and zooms just like any other happy puppy.
Dug is fantastic with every dog he's met and truly thrives with canine friends. He would do best in a home with a confident adult dog who can continue to show him the ropes, help him learn good manners, and also enjoy a good play session.
He's resilient, joyful, and full of life - with just a few battle scars that tell his story.
Dug doesn't need perfect paws.
He just needs a perfect family.
Ready to meet your little survivor?

Apply to adopt at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUVR/dog

All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats over 8 months of age, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org.
