Ducky - Foster Home Needed's Story
My name is Ducky, I was rescued from a crowded reservation in Manitoba in May of 2025. I was hit by a car, and suffered a fractured hip, which needed to be repaired with an FHO surgery.

I got my surgery in August 2025, thanks to a very generous donor, and I'm fully recovered now. I am ready to find a forever home that will love me, be patient with me while I learn how to live inside a home.

I am about 1.5 years old now (Jan 2026), and because I lived outside until I was rescued, I still need a little work on my house training. I can also be destructive when left alone, because I don't know where you went, and I don't think you'll ever come back for me!

I can stay in a crate while your out, for my safety (and to protect your things), but not for longer that a few hours at a time. If you're home, I don't need to be in a crate.

I am super affectionate, and I LOVE my people so much!! I was attacked regularly on the reservation by larger dogs, so I am a little reactive towards larger dogs that I do not know. But I get acclimatized with controlled Intros!! I have many doggie friends at the shelter!

I actually bunk with 2 giant dogs and I love them.

I am good with the shelter kitties, but they are like dogs. I would probably chase cats that run.

I weigh about 32lbs. I am short and long. Who knows what my breed mix is, I am a mystery!!

I would love to have a home with a fully fenced grassy yard, so you can house train me easily. Apartments don't really work because there's no way you can get me outside fast enough if I really gotta go!

I'm doing pretty good, but because I've been at the shelter, and had to be confined after having major surgery, it's been hard to get outside to potty train.

I still need some work to learn not to pull on leash, but everything is so cool and interesting.

I hope you want to meet me, because I am such a good boy. I just need someone to take a chance on me! I'll be your bestie forever.

I am neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $595.

An adoption application and home visit is required.
