Duchess's Story

Sweet Duchess UPDATE! Duchess has moved to one of our experienced fosters near Lynchburg, VA to help us get to the bottom of some anxiety she continues to display. While she has healed up nicely from her spay and has shown a clean bill of health so far, we would like to continue with some additional vetting. We want to make sure we rule out anything on the medical front and are working with her new vet on a possible longer-term medication to help her relax.

Unfortunately, we don't have much in the way of medical history on this sweet girl but it is very obvious she was loved and taken care of until her owner suddenly passed and NNR was contacted to help find her forever home. We were told she is around 9 years old but don't let that number fool you as this girl still has some pep in her step. We believe she might have some Border Collie or Aussie mixed in which would explain her higher-than-normal energy level as she is happy to follow you upstairs, downstairs, or outside wherever you want to go she is sure to follow with a happy wag of her tail. She is great on a leash and enjoys being brushed, but her favorite activity is by far snuggling on the couch with you while being pet.

Duchess hasn't shown herself to be much of a playmate with her canine foster siblings, but she is more than happy to curl up next to them for a nap. Duchess hasn't met a human she doesn't love and she craves the human touch so much so a home with someone home more often than not would be ideal for her.

Could this sweet girl be the one to make your family complete.... if so, please get your application in or if you already have a completed application let us know you are interested in sweet Duchess.

** Want to send this dog a gift? When you purchase a bib or bandana from our store with the code 4FOSTER they will receive it. The rescue receives the profit from the sale and the foster dog receives a gift!

When purchasing for a specific dog, please include that note in the comments. Or, purchase one for yourself!

Link for Bibs
https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bib/

Link for Bandanas
https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bandanas/
