He's about 4 years old(10/17/2021). He's normally very handsome and eye-catching, but due to his extreme skin problems, he is becoming unmanageable for me financially. He's a purebred, very active, and mostly quiet. He'll bark if you howl at him or if he hears someone knocking on the door.

I took Drako in March of 2024 when my cousin and her fianc announced they were moving into a no pets allowed apartment complex. I live in a rural area, so I had a big area for him to play in. A few months after I took him in, I noticed his itching. Took him to the vet, next thing I know I'm paying $115 a month for allergy meds. I'm 19, a trade school student, and was unemployed until late last year, so covering this was very difficult. I know, I know, I should have thought of that before caring for a purebred. My mistake.

Anyways, we thought the problem was fixed until about a month ago when the Apoquel was no longer working its magic. He scratches himself raw and it seems like no matter what I'm able to do, it won't work.

After several opinions from several vets, it is clear that the care he needs is something I'm unfortunately unable to give him. He needs someone that has the budget for hundreds of dollars a month in medication, proper diet, and skincare.

Thank you very much for reading about my special boy. I love him very much. I hate that I need to do this, but he'll be better off with someone that has the money to spare. I am an open book, please ask any questions you have.

His next rabies vaxx is due 3/12/2028.

Julian JohnsonMoncure, NC

killjoyjulian1@gmail.com(336) 279-5467

Contact the owner listed above for more information about [DogName].

Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
