Draco's Story

Draco!!!
Sex: MALE Age: 3 Years Old

GOOD with dogs, GOOD with kids (10 years and older), NO to cats

Dear future family,

Are you looking for a fun pibble with a balance of quirky energy and mellow chillness. Well, I could be just the sidekick for you. My name is Draco aka "DrummerBoy" (because of my wagging tail) aka "Dreamboat" (because I'm black and dreamy) aka "Black Bean" (again because of my coloring) and I enjoy playing fetch, going on walks, roaming the house, watching stuff out the window, and eating fresh blueberries. My foster papa says I'm really good about only chewing on my toys; I haven't chewed on a bed, rug, shoe, or anything else and my foster papa is very impressed. He also loves that I seem to be well house trained, with only a couple of tinkle accidents happening after I first arrived and had a bit too much water.

So what does "quirky energy" mean? Well, I'm a bit obsessed with a couple of things that can lead to some zesty behavior that I'm still working on as I become more comfy with my new life out of the shelter. For example, I love tennis balls and other toys that have that rolly shape, and I just need to chew on them. Sometimes I'm a bit reckless and will chase them too frantically around the house and run into things. But I know the "drop it" command and will let my foster papa have them, it's just hard to let go and sometimes not having something to hold in my mouf makes me a bit anxious. Because of this, my foster papa wants me to focus my energy on a different toy that doesn't get me so excited. My other quirky obsession is tree branches. At this time, I believe they might be hazardous to me and others. So I often try to jump up and tear them down. My foster papa is helping me learn that they are actually friendly and that I do not need to destroy them, but I'm still not 100% convinced.

In summary, I've got so much to share with my future family. I will probably need some support in learning to deal with my quirky energy, but my foster papa tells me I'm a good boy everyday and I hope my future family will do the same. In return, I will be your best friend. Deal?

Thanks for reading about me, Draco
