Dr. Doofenschmirtz's Story

Beagle / Male / 1 year / 29 lbs / Adoption Fee $550

Requirements: Martingale Collar / Fenced in Yard - but not to be left unattended / Single Family Home (No Apartments, Condos or Townhomes) / Another Confident Dog in the Home

Meet Dr. Doofenshmirtz from the Phineas and Ferb group of Beagles. This adorable little mastermind is currently inventing his greatest creation yet: a happy life.

At 1 year old, I'm just now discovering what it means to be a dog. My first couple of years weren't filled with the love and kindness every pup deserves, but now that I've experienced both, this big world is starting to feel a little less scary each day. As my confidence grows, so does my personality! And let me tell you, I'm becoming quite the spunky little guy!

One of my favorite things is playing with my foster fur sister. She's my teacher, my role model, and my security blanket all rolled into one. Because I look to her for comfort and guidance, I'll do best in a forever home with a friendly, confident dog who can continue showing me that life is full of wonderful adventures.

I'm still learning the basics, so I'll need a family with lots of love, patience, and consistency. I'm working hard on potty training and need continued guidance to learn that outside is the place to go. At night, I sleep peacefully in my kennel. It's my cozy little den and I keep it nice and dry. I've had a few accidents in the house, but I'm making huge strides every day.

The outdoors can still feel overwhelming, and I'm just beginning to learn how to walk on a leash. Loud noises make me nervous, and when things get a little too exciting, I usually retreat to my safe place until the world settles down again.
With time, encouragement, and a family willing to cheer me on through life's new experiences, I'm certain Ill blossom into an amazing companion. Beneath my cautious exterior is a playful, lovable pup who's ready to write a much happier chapter.

If you're looking for a best friend who will reward your patience with endless love—and maybe invent a few smiles along the way, Id love to meet you. Woof Gang Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our top priority here at WGR is to find the best possible home for each dog. We screen potential adopters in a variety of ways to ensure that every dog goes to a home that is safe, loving, and lasting. During the adoption process, you will work closely with your dog's foster parent(s), who know your dog most intimately and can determine if your home is the best fit for your dog. We will take an application, run a background check, and ensure all of your information is accurate. We schedule a meet & greet for your family to interact with your dog prior to adopt and we may also perform a scheduled home visit as well. All adopters sign a contract that outlines and promises proper treatment and care for your pet. The process may seem strict but it is that way on purpose. Most of the dogs we rescue come from shelters and/or abusive pasts. We are 100% dedicated to finding them a home where they can be happy, healthy, strong, loved, and cared for every day for the rest of their lives. ***We adopt to Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota only at this time. Residents of Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota will be required to drive to Wisconsin for a meet and greet and the dog that they apply for MUST already be spayed or neutered at the time of adoption.***
