Dr. Burch, A.D.H.D. 51135's Story
Meet Dr. Burch, A.D.H.D. (Advanced Degree of Hyperactive Dogs) — the comeback kid with the heart of a golden retriever and the enthusiasm of a slightly-too-caffeinated toddler.

Once upon a time, this boy was on the euthanasia list… and now he’s out here living his best life: learning manners, snuggling hard, and joyfully committing minor felonies against stuffed toys (he swears there *must* be treasure inside).

Burch is technically a 1-year-old, but spiritually? He’s a “just turned 1” kind of guy. He has that young-dog zest for life and occasionally gets a little mouthy when he’s really having fun, but it’s light, manageable, and easily redirected. A stuffed toy, however, in his presence has the same lifespan as a mayfly… but hey, that’s what Nylabones are for. He LOVES his Nylabones and Bullymake food-dispenser chew toys. I give him part of his meals in those to channel that energy into focused work. He has excellent long-form focus, and treat/food puzzle toys are fantastic for him.

Once he trusts you, he transforms from “thoughtful observer” to “loyal personal space heater.” He’ll curl up for snuggles, melt into you for pets, and follow you like he’s your emotional support shadow. He likes approaching people at his own pace, and once he gives you that first gentle sniff? The love story begins.

Burch is a total social butterfly with other dogs—especially younger pups who can match his wrestlemania energy. His current foster sister (8 months old) is his bestie, and together they host daily chaos festivals featuring tug-of-war, zoomies, and “who can body slam the fence or couch more poetically.”

Despite his playful side, he’s also a champion chill-er. Sunbathing? 10/10. Watching the world pass by from a cozy window? Peak serenity. Evening TV time? He’ll happily relax on his “place” with a chew while you binge your shows.

**Training? This man is educated.**
A proud alum of Wright Way Canine, he has learned and is working on mastering:
• Place
• Ready/eye contact
• Sit & Down
• One-Step
• Recall
• Leash manners
• My favorite- “Mind your business” - Polite ignoring of distractions (including other dogs!)

He comes with a free transfer lesson for his new family and boarding/daycare/grooming in a place that he is already familiar with because the Wright Way staff adore him.

Burch is looking for a patient, loving home that will keep building his confidence, give him structure, let him be silly, and appreciate his tender little soul. He will repay you with devotion, laughter, cuddles, and every snuggle he can possibly fit into your life.

If you’re ready to adopt a dog who survived the odds and came out goofy, sweet, trainable, and full of heart—Burch is your boy! He’s more than ready to write his next chapter with someone who sees how special he is.
