WEIGHT: approx. 60 lbs. <br/><br/>MY STORY: Dozier is a handsome friendly dog who just enjoys being by your side. He is a personal favorite and joy to walk. Dozier would a tried-and-true companion for anyone willing to open their hearts and give him a forever home. <br/><br/>As a dog walker volunteer, here are my initial observations:<br/><br/>Temperament:<br/><br/>Friendly with people and other dogs<br/>Smart and appears to be easy to train<br/>Confident, but not dominant<br/>Sweet and loves belly rubs<br/>Energy Level:<br/><br/>Moderate to high<br/>Outstanding walker<br/>does not dart around – walks well along road sides<br/>walks next to you or in front<br/>does not pull on the leash<br/>high stamina for long walks and trails<br/>does not need to continually stop and smell or mark – great walking pace for an active person making him so much fun to be with<br/>Does not bark at other people or dogs, so not easily distracted (except for squirrels)<br/>When needing to stop and rest, he will rest along with you and smell the fresh air<br/>Before walks, Dozier is excited to start his day and his energy level is high, but normal for his breed<br/>After a nice walk, Dozier is ready to settle in and cozy up with you<br/>Potty Habits<br/><br/>He eliminates outside during his walks<br/>Appears to be good match for:<br/><br/>Anyone who loves trail walks, hiking or just leisurely daily walks in the neighborhood<br/>If daily walks are not an option, fenced in backyard is ideal for Dozier to run around in<br/>Appears to get along with other dogs, but would adapt well as the only dog in the household<br/>General impression: When I am ready to start my volunteer walking shift, I cannot wait to see Dozier. I thoroughly enjoy being with him and can only imagine how wonderful he would be with his new family.<br/><br/>Dogs needing foster homes are available for adoption. This dog does need a foster home. For more information, see the Fluffy dog rescue home page. <br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE: $450<br/><br/>To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. <br/><br/>Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN.
