Tri-City Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
All potential adopters must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Texas Driver's License, and fill out a pre-adoption application.
The adoption fee for our pets is $75.00. For the dogs it includes a DA2PPV vaccination, rabies vaccination, deworming, sterilization, microchip with registration, and a heartworm test (if old enough) and collar. For the cats, it includes an FVRCCP vaccination, rabies vaccination, deworming, sterilization, microchip with registration, cardboard carrier, and a collar.
State law requires that all pets adopted from an animal shelter be spayed or neutered and vaccinated against rabies. Adopted pets will be taken by shelter staff to a participating local veterinarian for sterilization within the next two business days. The adopter can pick up the pet from the vet clinic after the surgery has been completed. If the pet you are adopting is not able to be sterilized or rabies vaccinated at the time of adoption, you will sign an agreement to have this done within a specified amount of time.
