Dory's Story
Meet Dory!

Dory is an extremely happy and friendly young Mexi-mix girl who just arrived in Oregon through our rescue program, thanks to our wonderful friends and rescue partners in Ciudad Constitucion, a town just outside of Cabo in Mexico's Baja California Sur region. This pup is one of 17 very lucky dogs of all shapes, breeds, ages and sizes who were given the chance to start fresh and are now on their way to brighter futures. Sweet, hopeful, and full of potential, these dogs are just beginning their journey and will be available for adoption soon. Dory came to us with her sister Marlin and brother Nemo. They're about as sweet, friendly and loving as they come. With some patience, training and guidance, we have no doubt that Dory will make such a wonderful and excellent companion and adventure partner for some very lucky person or family! If you're interested in welcoming this special pup into your home, we encourage you to submit an adoption application through our website to be added to his/her general interest list.

Could you be this girl's lucky new hero?

PupFax: Dory
Adoption Status: Available for Immediate Adoption
Medical Status: Cleared
Location: Bend/Central Oregon
Rescue Intake Type: Rescue partner/international

At-a-Glance Stats -

Age: 6 months (approximate)

Breed: Mixed breed

Size: Medium

Weight: 28.6 pounds (Approx. last weigh-in)

Sex: Female

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Vaccinations: Up to date (core vaccinations)

Microchipped: Yes

Personality & Temperament:

Energy level:

Home & Lifestyle Fit -

People: Good

Dogs: Good

Cats: Unknown at this time

Activity Level:

Ideal Home:

Training & Manners -

House/Potty Trained:

Crate Trained:

Leash Skills:

Commands Known: Unknown at this time

Food/Treat Motivation:

Health Notes -

Overall Health: Good

Known Medical Needs: N/A

(All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption.)

What this pup Is looking For:

What We Know & Why We Love Them (foster/volunteer/staff feedback):

Rescue history: Nemo, Marlin, and Dory are siblings/puppies from the local dump in Ciudad Constitucion. They're such sweet and friendly pups. Life at the dump is hard; they don't usually survive more than a year in most cases. We're so glad they were rescued, so they can get the chance to be adopted!

Hero For A Day (volunteer) Update 1/26/26:

I took Dory out for the day and she is an amazing dog! I'd like to share some observations about her:

Dory is very beautiful and smart. She enjoys hiking with me, and walks very well on the leash. She walks right next to me the whole time. She's a bit cautious when meeting new dogs, but she's very friendly to them. She also likes people and wants to greet everyone.

She's very smart and she learned some basic commands like yes, no, sit, down, and come within 15 minutes, and she's only 6 months old! She's very food-motivated, which makes obedience training very easy.

She's also very mellow and calm at our house. She gets along with our dogs, and all she wants is belly rubs and cuddles. She had a potty accident when she just got here, but after I took her out to the backyard once, she knows she should go potty outside. So house-training for her should be easy.
