Dorothy's Story

Meet Dorothy!

Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Young
Size: Small ([WEIGHT])
Good with: Adults, kids (even better!), dogs (the BEST!)

Dorothy is a parvo survivor, and honestly? We couldn't be happier that this little firecracker made it through! She's living proof that the toughest fighters often become the most joyful souls. Dorothy loves EVERYONE—adults are good, kids are better, but dogs? Dogs are the BEST. She's basically decided that the entire world is her best friend, and she's not wrong.

This girl has never had a down day. She's happy, jovial, and absolutely LOVES to play. Like, LOVES it. Capital letters, exclamation points, the whole deal. Dorothy is sweet as can be, but make no mistake—she is BUSY. Her schedule includes: playing, more playing, brief cuddle break, even more playing, and then maybe a nap before resuming play. She's got energy for days and enthusiasm for life that's downright infectious.

Dorothy will need someone who can keep up with her busy days and won't be overwhelmed by her nonstop zest for life. She'd be perfect in a home with other dogs who love to play, kids who can match her energy, and people who appreciate that sometimes the best therapy is a tiny whirlwind of pure joy bouncing around your house.

If you're looking for a small dog with a HUGE personality, endless optimism, and the kind of energy that makes you tired just watching her, Dorothy is ready to become your new best friend (and everyone else's too)!

Ready to welcome Dorothy into your life? We strive to describe each dog as accurately as possible; however, behavior and needs may change once the dog is in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not freeroaming in homes. When we note that a dog is "potty trained," this refers to reliable crate training, not confirmed freeroam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs are examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered if old enough, and are up to date on ageappropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. We share all known medical information, but we cannot guarantee future health or rule out underlying conditions.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.happyfacespetranch.org

Once your application has been approved, a representative will be in touch to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog based on the dog's individual needs.
