Dorito's Story

We are looking for a foster parent, or a foster to adopt situation for ‘lil Dorito …

- Approximately 3 years old
- 69% Chihuahua, 9% Chow Chow, 7% Poodle (Toy and Miniature), 5% Pomeranian
- 23 lbs
- Microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations
- Nearly potty trained, doesn’t like to go out in the rain and there’s some marking.
- Loves sleeping in the big bed
- Leash training in progress (although his prey drive is high, so he’ll pull when he sees a bird, etc)
- Loves other dogs and would benefit from a playmate or two
- Needs a yard (he loves to run around)
- Loves people once he gets to know them (he’s a little shy at first)
- Best with children over 10 (he may get too excited with younger kiddos)
- Dorito has some anxiety. We have been trying out some medication based on the recommendation of a trainer. This can be continued, but also physical activity would help immensely. Hikes, long walks, jogging, etc…

-He has been through puppy school, but he can learn a thing or two.
- He nips occasionally when he is bored. He does NOT mean to bite, but sometimes his nipping results in bruises. He is basically just trying to get the attention of his people.

- $350 adoption donation
- Super Handsome! I mean … just look at me!

From his Foster Parents:

“ Dorito is a very lovable cuddly and funny dog. You are guaranteed out loud laughters with him around. And he loves to cuddle with you on the couch and watch TV with you. But that is if he has had a chance to get his energy out. He goes on multiple walks a day… None of them shorter than 15 minutes long.

He absolutely loves car rides, but barks a bit. But besides that, you can easily go shopping with him. Doesn’t make any trouble waiting for you in the car. He loves it.

He is good with almost every dog and human he has been around. He is not picky with his food and is in very good health.

Due to his high prey drive, he needs to continue to have an Apple AirTag in his harness.”

??
