Doris's Story

Doris is a super cute little senior girl who proves that age is just a number! At 11 years old and 30lbs, she's in good health, spry, and full of personality while still being wonderfully low maintenance.

When Doris gets excited, she gets the cutest little tappy paws and does tiny hops that are guaranteed to make you smile. She loves toys and will happily play with you, but she's also perfectly content entertaining herself. She's a sweet, silly girl who enjoys her independence but absolutely loves cuddling up in bed with her people.

Doris is dog friendly and does well coexisting with other dogs, though she prefers they give her a little personal space and don't get right in her face. She's okay with cats, but she can be a little too interested in them at times, so she may do best with dog friends who understand her boundaries.

If you're looking for a low-key companion with a playful little personality and plenty of love to give, Doris might be your girl!

Big Paws of the Ozarks's Adoption Policy
All adopters must fill out an application on our website with all necessary information. From there, our staff will conduct a phone interview and answer any questions regarding the dog or the adoption process. Once approved, a meet and greet is scheduled with the family, dog, and dog's foster family. This is the time where other pets can be introduced. If the meet and greet goes well, we can send the dog in a trial adoption for a few days to make sure it is a perfect fit for everyone. From there the adoption is finalized through payment of the adoption fee and transferring of vet records.
