Donut's Story

Meet Donut, a sweet Labrador/Border Collie mix who is ready to find her forever home after a brave journey. She came to us from a neglect case alongside her litter of puppies, and now that all of her babies have found their homes, it is finally her turn to be pampered and loved.

Donut is a loyal, sensitive soul who takes a little time to warm up to new people. Once she knows she is safe, she transforms into an absolute cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be right by your side. Because she bonds so deeply, she is beginning to show some protective instincts, meaning she will thrive with a confident leader who can guide her through new social situations. Her rescue background means she is still navigating how she feels about sharing her space. She currently lives with cats in her foster home and previously lived with many dogs, but she will require slow, proper introductions for both. She has recently discovered how wonderful human affection is, and she might prefer to keep all that new love entirely to herself as an only pet.

Donut is also quite the athleteshe can clear a 5-foot fence with ease! However, her escapes aren't driven by a desire to run away. Instead, she immediately walks around to the front door and waits patiently for her humans to let her back inside. A home with a high fence, or a family committed to supervised outdoor time and leash walks, will keep this smart girl safe.

If you have a quiet home and a heart ready to welcome a devoted companion, Donut is waiting to meet you.

We start with an application, we then review it and have a conversation if I have questions or concerns. We talk about their living situation and ask for pictures of their home and yard (if any doubts we then schedule a home visit). Then we do a meet and greet to see if they and the puppy are a good fit, then we complete an adoption contract and collect the adoption fee. Our pups only go to their new homes after they have been sterilized.
