Dom's Story

Meet Dom!

Dom came to AWS as an owner surrender. His owner tried to rehome him with his littermates but was unsuccessful. She brought him here in the hopes of finding him a new home.

He is said to be a German Shepherd/Husky/Pitbull/Whippet mix weighing roughly 55-60 pounds. He will be 1 year old on Oct. 7th, 2025. He is definitely going to be on the larger side.

He is a sweet, but shy pup. All he knew before coming to AWS was being in the same house. He hasn’t had much socialization.
A few meet and greets may be required prior to finalizing an adoption. He is more shy with new people, however he has shown no signs of aggression.

His previous owner said he got along with their other 3 dogs, the cat, & children. Meet and greets are required for other dogs & children to ensure a proper fit for him. He is said to be scared of loud noises.
Dom needs a home/family that is going to take his safety & containment seriously. We have discovered that he can and will jump over walls to get where he wants to go.

Some further training to work on his basic obedience and to give him some confidence would be great for him.

Dom is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped!
