Dolly's Story

At just 3-4 years old, Dolly is ready to leave the uncertainty of her past behind and find the loving family she deserves. We don't know much about her life before she came into rescue-only that this sweet girl was found on the side of the road. But what we do know is that Dolly has so much love to give, and she has wasted no time showing us just how special she is.

Dolly is an absolute cuddle bug who would happily spend her days curled up beside her favorite person. She loves affection and being close to her people, but she has a playful side too! Give her a squeaky toy and she is one happy girl. Whether she's snuggling up for some love or happily playing with her favorite toys, Dolly has a way of making the simplest moments feel special.

She also loves getting outside for walks, where one of her favorite activities is taking her time to sniff around and investigate everything the world has to offer. Every walk is a new adventure when you're Dolly! When it's time to head back inside, she settles right back into home life. She is already housebroken and does not go to the bathroom in the house, making her an especially wonderful companion.

Dolly is sweet, affectionate, playful, and so ready to belong to someone. Dolly doesn't need anything extravagant-just squeaky toys to play with, plenty of places to sniff, a cozy spot to curl up, and, most importantly, a family to cuddle with at the end of the day.

Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA's Adoption Policy
Adoption applicants must complete an application form as the first step towards acquiring a pet. Your application will be verified by staff who will explain the next step in your adoption process. All adoption criteria must be met before the adoption is approved. Once approved, you are under no obligation to complete the adoption if you change your mind. All dogs and cats are required to be spayed or neutered. The first step to solving the pet overpopulation problem is to prevent contributing to it. The deposit you pay at the time of the adoption goes towards that surgery wherever you choose to establish a relationship with a veterinarian. Pets are placed in the best possible home if there is more than one application pending. We cannot place a hold or accept a deposit on a pet. Adopters may only adopt 2 pets within a 30-day period. We can and do adopt to out-of-area homes given that the pet is spayed or neutered before crossing county lines per Virginia state law and the applicant has physically interacted with the pet. We will not ship a pet.
