Dolly's Story

Meet
Dolly
(Parton)! A Good Samaritan found this sweet girl hanging around the house that they had never seen her before. She was super skittish and they spent the next few days gaining her trust and giving her some food. After talking with some neighbors, they found out she had been seen on various cameras in the area for the past YEAR living on her own in the woods and scavenging.

Dolly has a condition called Megaesophagus, you can read more about that HERE. So Dolly is an amazing girl, but this is a condition that you need to be aware of but she is so worthy of the effort!

She has completely transformed into a loving and super appreciative house guest. She’s estimated to be about 7-8 years old and getting up to a healthy weight, probably will be around 45-50lbs once fully healthy. She is heartworm positive, but this is not anything to be concerned with! With monthly preventatives, we are certain she will be HW- in no time. She is in overall in great health considering her age and history.

She’s been amazing with her foster family of kids and two other dogs. She’s definitely cautions as she’s learning to trust again, but has not once been defensive.
