Dolly's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dolly is a very sweet, somewhat timid lady who came to us from an all-to-well-known past: she could no longer breed and provide an income so she was discarded, like garbage!
Dolly was found overheating in a ditch. She was picked up by a Good Samaritan who cooled her down, bathed her, and understood that her life had value, not in the sense of producing puppies for sale, but in the sense of being a sweet, loving little dog who deserved a better ending to her story than what she was given.
Dolly is 8 years old, weighs a whopping 8 pounds, and doesn't seem to hold any grudges about her past life. She is friendly, albeit timid. She wags her tail non-stop. She does not demonstrate the fear and terror sometimes seen in dogs kept in captivity for breeding purposes for long periods of time.
She loves a lap. She likes to ride in the car. She is not a fan of being picked up; she stiffens but never lashes out.
Dolly loves other dogs. She loves her crate and soft bed. She loves being able to roam around in the yard. She loves the things that she deserves!Dolly is working on housebreaking, leash training, and recall (she's probably never had a name, so doesn't really respond to 'Dolly' yet). She needs time, patience, and security. Don't we all?Dolly is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea and tick prevention, as well as heartworm prevention (she is negative for heartworm).
