Dolce's Story

Welcome to Camp Cocker, Dolce!

Dolce, who is very much not a cocker spaniel, joined Camp Cocker Rescue in the middle of a medical crisis! She had a disc ruptured in her back and was acutely paralyzed for several days. Her former owner had been desperately trying to find a rescue organization where she could relinquish Dolce!

We immediately took Dolce to a specialty hospital through their emergency department. She was seen by a board certified neurologist, had an MRI and then taken into back surgery. All of this was done the same day of her relinquishment.

When something is time-sensitive like a spinal cord issue, we do not slow walk it. Time was of the essence for Dolce to ever walk again! The surgery went well. A huge ruptured disc had been pressing on her spinal cord as well as disc “residue” that seemed to have been there for awhile.

This soon-to-be 6 year old (her DOB is 11/24/19) has been getting the post-op care and physical therapy she needs. She’s progressed beautifully, is walking so well since her back surgery, and is ready for her new home!

›>› CAMP COCKER RECOMMENDS: For current status, updates, photos, videos & details about Dolce, please visit her webpage at
https://www.campcocker.com/dog/dolce-2025 - and follow our social media.

Dolce is being fostered in Riverside County

APPLY TO ADOPT DOLCE at www.campcocker.com/adoption-process

#CampCockerDolce
