DODGER's Story

Dodger is a friendly, curious dog who greets people with big, wiggly tail wags at his kennel door. He is easy to leash and he walks calmly down the aisle. His hackles may be raised, but he does not react toward the other dogs as he passes. Outside, Dodger is most interested in exploring. He spends his time thoroughly sniffing the grassy areas and taking in every scent. When his handler crouches down, he comes over with a quick burst of tail wags before returning to his investigation. He is not motivated by treats, but he allows full-body petting and shows relaxed, friendly behavior. During enrichment time in the temp test room, Dodger’s playful side comes out. He enjoys toys, likes to shake them, and proudly carries them around without trying to destroy them. He also seeks out affection, especially pets and butt scratches. Dodger is a gentle, inquisitive dog who enjoys exploring, playing with toys, and spending time with people. He will thrive in a home that appreciates both his curious nature and his affectionate moments.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
