Doc's Story

Dusty boots, a loyal heart, and energy to spare — that’s me! My name is Doc, and I’m a one-year-old, 55-pound Weimaraner/Lab mix with a big personality, a huge heart, and a serious love for adventure.

I’m a country boy at heart, and I’m happiest when I have room to play, people to love, and a family to call my own. I need a house setting with a securely fenced outdoor yard where I can safely run, play, and get my energy out while supervised. Having a secure space to enjoy the outdoors is very important to me.

I’m also what you might call a professional shadow. Wherever you are, that’s where I want to be! I don’t just follow my people around — I supervise them. Velcro might as well be my middle name.

I’m house trained and crate trained, and I’m pretty proud of my manners. I know sit, shake, speak, down, and wait, and I’m always ready to learn more because, well... I’m a smart boy and I know it! My leash skills still need a little polishing, but I’m trying my best.

I’m a friendly guy and get along great with dogs, cats, and older kids. Tiny humans are pretty cool too, but I’m enthusiastic about life and might accidentally bowl them over with all my excitement and love. Because of that, older children may be the better fit for me.

I have a whole lot of love to give, and I’m just waiting for my perfect match!

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form!
