Djinn Djinn's Story
Djinn Djinn is a 4 month old, 5 pound, male purebred Maltese. He was purchased by a young owner who didn’t have sufficient time for a puppy. She also had cats and being a playful puppy, he chased them. She did the best thing for him by deciding quickly that he’d be better off in a more appropriate environment and contacting us for help.
He’s doing very well in his foster home and playing enthusiastically and fearlessly with their 2 westies.
He’s cute as a button, it’s hard to find much cuter than a small, fuzzy, white puppy. He’s friendly and gets along with other dogs so although he could be an only dog, it would probably be best for him and you to have another friendly dog for him to play with and burn off some puppy energy. Young children could be too much for his size, so we’re looking for an adult home or with older children possible. He’s healthy and vetted as appropriate for his age. More will still need to be done as he grows and matures and will be outlined in his adoption contract. At his age, housetraining and behavioral training are only just at the beginning. His adopter should be a young retiree or someone working from home so they can give him the time, supervision, training time and exercise he really needs to be happy and well adjusted. We are looking for a successful match this time! Safe home and yard, northeast only.
This breed of dog has a high level grooming requirement, needs frequent brushing to keep his long, soft hair unmatted and professionally groomed every other month. He is not currently cut into an adult Maltese coat because he still has puppy hair and looks cute this way. Please contact Erica Cerny at ecerny@optonline.net or 973-361-6790 for more information or go to https://stcgny.com/rescue for an application and complete our Scottie rescue application just specifying that it’s for Djinn Djinn and we’ll get the idea.
By the way, he’s named after the dog on the old sitcom I Dream Of Jeannie. He was Jeannie’s little magical dog who was known for being mischievous and disappearing.
