DJ's Story

I can’t believe DJ hasn’t found his family 💔 DJ came to us at just 5–6 months old after being hit by a car. His injuries were severe and required amputation, but today he’s a happy, resilient tripod who doesn’t let it slow him down. DJ does well with cats and other dogs, though he can be a bit apprehensive when meeting new ones and needs gentle guidance. Because of his past, vehicles and new situations can be scary, so he’s looking for a patient, understanding family willing to help him continue building confidence. He is potty trained, crate trained, and incredibly sweet. DJ can be nervous on leash, but with time and consistency he continues to improve. Please don’t apply if patience isn’t a virtue. Leo's Friends Rescue's Adoption Policy

If you are interested in adopting, please complete our application: https://form.jotform.com/leosfriendsrescue/adoption-application ADOPTION FEES: Adult Dogs: $250, Seniors: $150, Large Breed: $300, Puppies up to 12 months old: $300 Kittens up to 12 months old: $150, Adult Cats: $125 Included with dog adoptions in the DFW area: Age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, up to date preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already altered, a voucher is provided. Included with cat adoptions in the DFW area: Age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, combo test, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already altered, a voucher is provided. Our dogs & cats are fostered in Texas but available for adoption out of state. They are transported by a rescue partner to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. Our out of state adoption fee is $300 for dogs and $150 for cats, plus transport cost (varies by location). This fee includes spay/neuter for pets 6 months & over, current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, a negative heartworm test/FeLV test, and health certificate. As a Leo's direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
