Dixon's Story

Meet Dixon! a handsome 45-pound Pitbull mix who perfectly balances a youthful spirit with a heart of gold. Although the shelter estimated him to be around 6 years old, Dixon possesses the vibrant energy of a much younger dog, often expressing his pure joy through adorable “spinning” zoomies whenever his favorite humans walk through the door. He is a total gentleman in the home—fully housebroken, crate trained, and a dream in the car. While he is a good leash walker who understands “heel,” he is equally content to retire from his outdoor adventures and settle in as a certified couch potato, napping peacefully right by your side.

Dixon’s ideal forever home would include a fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart’s content and play endless games of fetch. Because he can be a bit jumpy when he’s excited, he would be most successful in a home with older children who can match his enthusiasm. Dixon is looking to be the king of his castle as the only pet; he hasn’t met other dogs in foster care and is seeking a feline-free environment after a previous home confirmed he isn’t a fan of cats. With no medical needs and a whole lot of love to give, Dixon is simply waiting for a family to appreciate his spins, his snuggles, and his loyal personality.

Adoption application:
