Dixie 's Story

Available in Denver!

This is sweet Dixie! Dixie is an 8 month old lab/border collie type mix. She’s not going to get much bigger - at 37 pounds now. We think she will be 45 pounds at most. She is the perfect sized girl. Dixie is crate trained, leash trained, and has been potty trained in her foster home with consistency. This sweet girl was hit by a car before she came to us and had surgery to repair her leg. We are so glad she didn’t lose her leg! Luckily that was her only injury. She is doing great and building up strength in her repaired leg. Dixie gets daily walks as a part of her recovery. Dixie is great with cats and other dogs. She loves the 4 pound chihuahua in her foster home. One of the puppies in her foster home is on love with Dixie and photo bombed almost all of her photos! She was scared of the big dogs at first but is learning that they are friends. We’ve been slowly introducing her to new dogs and she’s been doing better and better not being scared. Dixie adores kids and all humans she meets and is always greeting you with a tail wag and some kisses. This girl is really a gem and going to make a wonderful family member. She has been through so much and is still just the sweetest girl around!

If interested in Miss Dixie please send in an application as the first step towards adoption! www.soardogs.org
