Dixie's Story

Dixie is a 1-year-old, 40-pound sweetheart who is just beginning to learn how wonderful life as a loved family dog can be. 💛

She likely hasn’t had much experience living inside a home before, so new or loud noises can still feel a little scary. Because of that, she’s looking for a calm home without small children where she can continue building confidence at her own pace.
What she doesn’t lack is love. Dixie absolutely adores people. She leans in for pets, happily accepts hugs, and wants nothing more than to feel safe and close to her humans. Once she trusts you, her gentle, affectionate personality really shines.

She’s currently fostered with another dog that she enjoys and does well with, and she’s also living peacefully with a cat. She’s learning house training and all the basics of being a cherished family member — and she’s making progress every day!

Dixie doesn’t need perfection. She just needs patience, kindness, and someone willing to show her how great it is to be a dog. In return, you’ll get to watch a shy girl blossom into a devoted, loving companion. 🐾

Ready to help Dixie find her happily ever after?
