MEET DIXIE! Dixie is a 4–5-year-old, 40 lb cattle dog with the sweetest, gentlest soul. She’s been in foster care and is slowly learning that the world can be a safe and happy place.<br/><br/> Good with other dogs — big & small<br/>Spayed<br/> House trained<br/> Crate trained<br/> Good in the car<br/> Good on leash & continuing to learn<br/> Submissive and gentle<br/> Very sweet and affectionate once she trusts you<br/> A secure/fenced yard would be ideal<br/><br/>Dixie is a very shy girl, especially around new people. She needs a family who understands that trust takes time and is willing to be patient with her. She isn’t the kind of dog who will run up to you on day one looking for attention—but once she feels safe, she has so much love to give. <br/>Since coming into foster care, Dixie has made so much progress. She is learning how to enjoy walks, relax in the house, explore new things, and even cuddle on the couch. <br/><br/>I truly believe Dixie spent many years of her life in a kennel, and now she is finally discovering what it feels like to be a dog—and to be loved.<br/><br/>She deserves a quiet, loving and patient family who will give her the time she needs to blossom. <br/><br/>If you’re looking for a dog who may take a little time to trust you but will love you with her whole heart once she does...
