Dixie's Story

Meet Miss Dixie The Comeback Queen

Three years ago, Miss Dixie came into our care in heartbreaking condition malnourished, missing patches of fur from stress, and unsure what love truly felt like. With gentle care, proper nourishment, and lots of TLC, she transformed into a happy, healthy girl with a shiny coat and a sparkle in her eyes.

Dixie was adopted by a young couple and we thought her happily-ever-after had arrived. Sadly, life had other plans. After a divorce, Dixie was abandoned in a home with two other dogs, left to fend for themselves until kind neighbors started feeding them. Eventually, they were rehomed out of state but years later, our worst nightmare came true. Dixie was found roaming the streets of Chicago, malnourished and neglected once again.

The silver lining? Her microchip saved her life. When she was scanned, our rescue was immediately contacted, and we brought her back to Texas to heal once more. Now, this resilient girl is safe, loved, and ready to find her true forever home this time in Montana.

Dixie is the full package:
Dog-, kid-, and people-friendly
Crate and potty trained
Spayed and well-mannered
Loves swimming and playing with other dogs
Gentle and respectful with cats (curious but kind!)

She even earned a Gold Star for good behavior at the Chicago shelter despite all the stress she endured. Dixie has become the welcoming committee for new fosters, showing them how to relax and play. Shes great with dogs of all sizes, loves chase games, and balances her playful energy with plenty of cuddle time.

Whether shes splashing in the water or curled up beside you for a movie night, Dixies heart is full of love and loyalty. She greets children with sweet kisses and has an unshakable gentle spirit.

Dixie deserves her fairy-tale ending.
In return, youll gain a devoted best friend whos survived the worst and still chooses love every single day.
