Sadly, life had other plans. After a divorce, Dixie was abandoned in a home with two other dogs, left to fend for themselves until kind neighbors started feeding them. Eventually, they were rehomed out of state but years later, our worst nightmare came true. Dixie was found roaming the streets of Chicago, malnourished and neglected once again.<br/><br/>The silver lining? Her microchip saved her life. When she was scanned, our rescue was immediately contacted, and we brought her back to Texas to heal once more.
